Our House Pet

Last Thursday I was looking forward to a fun night at a local carnival but 30 minutes after arrival I found that rides now just promise me increasing levels of nausea. Trying to calm my stomach and equilibrium my boyfriend, Timothy and I headed towards the midway. Now, as a youngster my brother and I would always ask to throw baseballs at pyramids of coke bottles or darts at balloons always to a polite but firm "no" from our parents. The one game we begged to play and were always met with a resounding "NO" was the ping-pong ball thrown into a glass bowl to win the coveted prize of a goldfish. Now, maybe it was the money needed to invest in the little guy after the winning or maybe they knew the chance of a travelling fair goldfish surviving more than 24 hours was slim to none...whateve the reason, my brother and I just thought them cruel and unusual. So, I'm telling this sad childhood tale to Timothy when we pass the goldfish both and he says, "Do you want me to win you a goldfish?" To which I reply, "Oh no I can't have...wait a minute. I'm grownup. I don't live with my parents. YES TIMOTHY! WIN ME A GOLDFISH!!" And he did! Paranoid as I was about him dying immediately, we stopped at Wal-mart on the way home and got the very basic supplies and have gotten a few others over the past few days. I named him Steve after my cousin (don't ask). It is silly but I find myself thinking about him during the day and wondering why he isn't eating as much as I think he should be. I constantly "google" advice on caring for my new orange buddy. His bowl sits on my bedside table and I find myself staring at him before bed and when I wake in the morning. It is like I have taken myself back to that childhood longing for this little creature I couldn't have. I think that is more the appeal than anything else. I mean, it's just a goldfish, right? But, it was something withheld for so long...the forbidden fruit...kind of. Whatever the reason I am quite taken with him and hope I don't come home any time soon to find him floating belly up. He's not big enough to eat yet.

This was absoutely one of my favorite shows growing up. One of the only ones my brother and I were allowed to stay up and watch.

I Love Fall!

Fall festivities are the best!

In the past week, some of us have gotten to go to fairs and festivals.

Today there was the annual Dragon Boat Races...about 18 people paddle a boat to the beat of a drum in a boat that looks like a dragon. (Next year we decided we're going to have a team.)

And still to come are outdoor concerts, bonfires, races, and more!

The leaves haven't started turning colors yet, but as soon as they do I'm headed to north georgia on a road trip.

I love the colored leaves backdropped by a crisp blue sky.

Oh I finally figured it out!!

I have been reading everybody's blogs and feeling a tad left out by my own doing because I couldn't figure out how to post my own. I want to share some of my experiences and how God led me here to these beautiful and strong ladies. I felt like my parents trying to figure out some new-fangled electronic device such as a DVD player ;) They tend to hit random buttons until something happens which is how I turn on our television but that is neither here nor there. The point is...I finally figured it out!! So...yay! I'll be posting stories soon. You should look forward to that...we are a funny and interesting bunch of girls. Who knows what all will happen?!

Looking Forward

We've done most of the major settling into the home.  I was talking to the Lord this morning and realized I have this feeling of anticipation...looking forward to what God is going to do in each of our lives over this next year.  Even just over the past month, so much change has taken place.  What a blessing it is to move into 'community' with those you know.  I love all of our deep talks at night and sharing our hearts.  God is doing something in each of us.  It's good.

I was doing so well. I hadn't watched Smallville in about 10 months...or 11 months...oh, i don't remember.

Today, I turned on the TV and guess what was on? Smallville. The theme song..."Somebody saaaave me..." started playing and I was hooked.

So I watched it. And it was a really good episode! Clark decided to let go of the past and embrace his destiny as a superhero. (sounds cheesy...ok, I understand...but it's still good.)

I am now trying to forget the newly learned fact that re-runs come on every Sunday at 5pm and new shows every Thursday at 8pm. Agghhh!!...i feel the addiction coming on... ha ha!

oh...and Chloe, who is my favorite character on the show,...i found out we have the same laptop...a lime green Dell!

Wild Turkey's

I was leaving the house today, just about to get into my car...and noticed a HUGE wild turkey... my first reaction was wow, that's cool and wanted to share the excitement with someone, so I called for Amy. As we stood there staring, we noticed two of them. Then they ran off together through the trees. Amy and I agreed they look something like miniature dinosaurs, how odd. Now we are all excited about Thanksgiving! Oh and all things pumpkin flavored...

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, in a city not too far away, there were two girls who really enjoyed seeking the Lord and growing in Him. One of the girls wished that there could be a home one day where several girls,who wanted to seek God too, could live together. So one day the two girls went on a prayer drive. After traveling down the highway for awhile, they passed McDonalds, then passed Dunkin Donuts, and then decided to turn into a subdivision. The houses were so pretty. The girls oohed and ahhhed as they drove through the neighborhood. "We could never live here," they thought. At the moment, it hit them, "but God could get us a house here!" So they drove around the neighborhood, praying that God would give them a house that several girls could live in and seek God together. They finished their prayer and drove off.

Several years passed. The dream seemed to fade. In fact, the prayer for a home had long been forgotten. The girls went their separate ways in life.

Several more years passed.

One day after work, the girl who wanted to have a home where several girls would live together and seek God, was met on the road by a tall man. He approached her with a smile and started talking, "I have this house...."

The girl was ecstatic to learn that the home was in the neighborhood that she and her friend had prayed for a home.

Now, all the girl needed was 3 roommates. But where would she find 3 single girls that wanted to seek God and live in this house. She prayed. God brought her one roommate. She prayed some more. No more roommates came. The tall man said, "I need to know by July 11th if you will be moving in this house." The girl prayed again. Still no roommates. She was down to one week before she must give the tall man her answer. Another roommate was found. Still, there was one roommate left to find. The girl knew that God had led her to this home, so she prayed again. And on July 11th, a fourth roommate was found.

The girl approached the tall man and said, "yes. we will move in the home!"

And they all lived happily ever after...

Friends birthday's are cool

I wanna give a shot-out to... Meredith. Today's her birthday!  Okay, so I love party's and I'm looking forward to having everyone here tonight.

A New Look?

So, the Diana Ross look? or the Mary Tyler Moore look? hmm...

SNOOZE IS STUPID!

Okay, just my personal take on the situation. But Ithink the "snooze" function is stupid. Now, do I use it regularly - Absolutely! Should I? Absolutely not. I think a lazy man one day was lying around going "5 more min", "5 more min." and decided all alarms should have this function! But my basis behind all of this is.... There is a REASON the alarm was set for a certain time in the first place! And a reason I should have gotten up this morning 45 min. before I actually did! When my alarm went off the first time! I'm pretty sure an American probably made this function. No offense, but it just makes sense.

HOLA!

My name is Chantell and I have the most amazing family in the world. I have a wonderful twin sister that is literally my other half and best friend. As well as 7 other best friends that have been with me for the last 9 years and made me laugh the entire way. I have an amazing boyfriend that makes me laugh like crazy and knows my heart without my ever having to say a word. He truly makes my life brighter. Jesus is the first love of my life and I could NEVER make it without Him. I love glitter and flowers, they make me so happy. And I LOVE to travel. I've been blessed to live in the Grand Canyon, and travel to beautiful locations throughout the world. I am in constant AWE of God's amazing glory when I step outside. I'm SOOOO super excited about living with these amazing girls, and "doing life together". God is SOOO faithfu!

Ahhhh slept in... after working 17 hours this weekend. I love walking in this neighborhood, so I think I'm gonna go for a bit. Get some fresh air, and blow off some steam!

fresh start on life...275 style!

Hey peeps! I'm Angela. I moved here w/ Amy...needed a fresh start, amen! I'm making a conscience decision to aim for a healthier lifestyle, spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally. For work I cut folks hair in Peachtree City, and do make-up for MAC (yaay, love make-up) in Atlanta. I'm progressively growing in what I do, and hope to get connected with more photographers.

So, we just got this cool house and each have 3 awesome roommates. The Lord definitely orchestrated this and we are excited to see what's in store as we do life together here at 275.
